2019 River Cruise in France -- Introduction

In August of 2019, Brenda and I took a pair of river cruises in France (I know, not a new country).  The first cruise, on the Viking Delling, started in Avignon and went up the Rhone river to Lyon.  From Lyon, we took the TGV train to Paris and got on the Viking Rinda, for a week on the Seine, traveling to the Normandy coast and back to Paris.  Here's the route:

The Delling and Rinda are virtually identical boats, each holding abuot 190 passengers.  Because both rivers have locks, the boats had to be narrow enough to fit in the locks and low enough to pass under bridges.  This makes the staterooms (at least the ones without full balconies) very small.
