Days 10-11: At sea and San Diego

Day 10: At Sea

Nothing happened today, so here are a few shots from around the ship.

Day 11: San Diego

We had one day in San Diego before leaving for home, so we spent most of the day at the San Diego Zoo.  Even so, we only saw about half the zoo.

After returning from the zoo, we wandered around the port area.

The USS Midway Museum was right next to where our ship was docked.  We didn't have time to go to the museum (which is on the USS Midway), but there was plenty to see in the area.

Days 8-9: Cabo San Lucas

Day 8: Cabo San Lucas

Our first day in Cabo San Lucas was spent wandering around the town and harbor.  I believe we passed by 7 different Senor Frogs on our wanderings--this is a serious party town.  Cabo San Lucas was a fishing village until the mid-1970's, when it started growing as a tourist destination.

The center of town was a little less fancy than the harbor.

Day 9: Cabo San Lucas

Today we booked an excursion that included a harbor cruise, a visit to a glass factory, and a trip to Cabo San Jose, about 20 miles away.

Back in the harbor

After the boat trip, we went to a glass blowing factory.

Next, we headed up the coast to San Jose del Cabo.

San Jose del Cabo is a much older town than Cabo San Lucas, dating back to the 1750's.  It's much more "authentic" and much quieter.

Ultimately, we returned to the ship, and sailed for San Diego.
